Bay conducts an energy study to identify energy savings opportunities and designs a plant-wide SCADA system, which will help identify future savings opportunities.

Project Scope

Southeastern Container and Bay Controls created a data logging and information gathering procedure so Bay Controls could create a design document that would detail energy savings opportunity that could be utilized for future energy savings projects.

Project Summary

Using portable metering devices along with BSI modules and a BayView Server system, Bay Controls was able to gather data for production and non-production periods for all major energy users. Bay Controls also worked with the plant personnel to observe how many of the system were being utilized and operated. By combining these things, Bay Controls was able to create detailed project proposal for several key areas of energy savings opportunities.

• Reciprocating Air Compressor Controls Savings Estimate - $18,000 / year

Total project cost was $10,000.

Other Benefits

Plant personnel are now more familiar with the key factors of energy savings and how to go about identifying each opportunity, detailing the opportunity and then reporting on the opportunity.
